City College Southampton art student and Groundwork South to give ABP Town Quay containers a splash of colour

City College Southampton has collaborated with ABP Town Quay and local environmental regeneration charity, Groundwork South, in the Urban and Coastal Art Competition which aims to bring two quayside containers to life. The project saw budding Van Goghs and their families come together to create pieces of art at four free summer workshops in Town Quay Marina and Lloyd Recreation Ground, in Marchwood. The winning designs, which were selected from over 40 entries, will now be used to decorate two quayside containers at Town Quay Marina.

Dominic Dalipe, and fellow art students from City College Southampton, will bring the designs to life on the containers in the new year (March-April 2016), under the watchful eye of art tutor, Sudhir Sood. The project highlights the college’s ethos of hands-on learning and commitment to engaging students with local businesses.
