Almost a third of all primary school leavers lack basic water safety skills, a new report reveals. 

The Swim Group’s Curriculum Swimming and Water Safety Review Group has issued a stark warning after uncovering startling statistics in their recent survey. 

As curriculum pressures increase, swimming in primary schools is being placed on the back burner, but the Group warns that children will continue getting into difficulty in the water if improvements are not made. 

Weekend classes for school children from low income families aimed at advancing STEM education and fundamental coding skills

 BJSS, the award-winning delivery-focused IT consultancy, today announces that its community investment partnership with Turinglab, an organisation dedicated to tackling the IT skills gap, has launched at Cockburn High School in Leeds. The programme teaches fundamental coding skills to school children, aged between 11 and 16, from low income families.

School children across the UK will join thousands of other schools all over the world to celebrate Outdoor Classroom Day- a global initiative that encourages teachers to take lessons outside.  
 
Outdoor Classroom Day will be celebrated across the world in as many as 52 countries on May 18th 2017, with the aim of getting over half a million children learning and playing outside of their classroom.
