Welcome to The Wilderness Centre
Set in around 30 acres of beautiful woodland, meadow and pastureland right of the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean, the Wilderness Centre is an award winning outdoor activity and residential centre offering a range of outdoor activities and indoor facilities for schools and community groups, family gatherings and corporate clients. With flexible packages such as day or residential stays, camping, self-catered or fully catered options, the Centre is well placed to meet the needs of a variety of requirements. With its stunning location and extensive indoor accommodation for up to 54 guests and bell tent village for around 30 people, the site is also ideal for weddings, celebrations and events.
The Centre runs a wide variety of team building events and hosts training, meetings, presentations, workshops and rural courses as well as their popular school residentials. In addition to the main house there are also several outbuildings perfect for a variety of uses.
Activities range from team building, bush craft, climbing and archery through to crate stack, night walks, tunnelling, abseiling, foraging and outdoor cookery on site, while activities such as canoeing, kayaking, and mountain biking can be offered off site. The Centre aims to tailor activities to the requirements of a particular group to ensure that specific outcomes and objectives are met.
The Centre is fully approved by A.A.L.S. (Adventure Activities Licensing Authority) and the Institute for Outdoor Learning and holds the prestigious Gold Standard Award from the Association of Heads of Outdoor Education Centres (AHOEC), one of only 50 Centres in the country to do so (there are around 500 centres nationwide).
