Headteacher Magazine, guide to services and products for UK Schools
Build pupils’ critical literacy skills and help children to spot fake news. Primary school teachers and staff from across Manchester are invited to a special news-themed event at The Sharp Project this month, hosted by Discovery Education.
‘Day of Discovery Manchester’ - Tuesday 18th September 9am-4pm - will show primary schools how they can ignite pupil interest in current affairs and help children to distinguish fact from fiction.
Featuring fun practical workshops and activities - including filming with green screen and digital technology - teachers will explore how to bring news into the classroom and infuse it throughout the curriculum. They’ll also share ideas for building critical literacy skills, equipping pupils to navigate the digital world and identify fake news stories.
Day of Discovery Manchester is open to all primary school teachers, teaching assistants and support staff – and is free to attend. To find out more and register visit: discoveryeducation.co.uk/what-we-offer/events
